Sometimes in life you simply need to “Let it be”
I don’t know about you but I love music. Music gets me going. Moves my soul and inspires me to think big. I love researching what songs are about, if they speak to me enough. One song recently spoke to me is “Let it Be,” written by Paul McCartney and performed by the Beatles.
The lyrics go as follows:
When I find myself in times of trouble
Mother Mary comes to me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
And in my hour of darkness
She is standing right in front of me
Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.
Let it be, let it be.
Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.
When I researched the song, it was about Paul losing his mother at the age of 14 and to help himself and others move on after times of tragedy. I saw it as that and also assisting people to just simply move on from things that are bringing them down and shackling them from fulfilling their potential. Sometimes we just need to let it be.
What are some things you need to “let be?”
Here are a few ideas to get you started:
- Maybe it’s a relationship you know you shouldn’t be in. Whether it’s a friend, family member or spouse. Someone in your life that is bringing you down and inhibiting your growth as a person. Let it be.
- Perhaps it’s a bad habit you need to let be. Addiction. Overspending. Overeating. Lack of sleep or exercise. Letting them be one habit at a time. Better everyday.
- It could be a mistake you made. You continue to look back on it, as you believe it will determine the rest of your life. Forget about it and move on. Let it be!
- One many of us could use is to let Social Media be. Yes I said it. We are in a world filled with distractions, social media being the biggest or as I call it Anti-Social Media. Facebook, instagram, snapchat. You name it. We can get enamored with it. Don’t get me wrong; it has its place and purpose. But, it’s way overused. We have lost the ability to communicate face to face. We are the only species in the world that have the ability to speak to each other the way we do. Sometimes, we need to remember that and let the social media be.
- Heck, maybe you just need to let that consistent NEGATIVE SELF TALK BE. Think positive thoughts. Remember positive thoughts make positive actions. Positive actions make a difference. Let that negativity Be!
So, I am going to ask you again, what do you need to let be?
