In yesterdays video, I touched a lot on the importance of family. Surrounding yourself with people who are challenging you, supporting you and love you unconditionally. I want to take this a step further.
I am a firm believer that the Lord puts certain people in our lives when we need them most. Whether it’s by prayer or just unconditional love from Him. Think about it. Are the people in your life NOW ones that God placed in your life or was it people that YOU placed in your life based on your own decisions and WANTS.
If you are silly and prideful like me, you want the ones that God has placed in your life. I know what happens when I make decisions without seeking Him first. They lead to guilt, shame and pride.
I get it, it’s hard. Tough. Heck, sometimes it seems darn near impossible to surround yourself with Godly people like ourselves. But, is it? We must continue to have FAITH, stay positive and be grateful.
My friends Dad says that the opposite of gratitude is pride. He couldn’t be more correct. Are you grateful for the people God has in your life right now? I mean really… are you?
You just never know… if the Lord sees your pride taking over instead of humility, he may take those people from you. Not by death necessarily, but some may move or “coincidentally” remove themselves from your life. We must be grateful for whom we have, instead of constantly looking for new things and people to add into our life. Work on enhancing our current relationships and friendships.
Are there people in your lives that you feel have been pure blessings to you in your walk with the Lord? Your purpose? Your life?
The Lord has placed them in your life for a reason. Make sure you are showing unconditional gratefulness. Not just a text, a facebook post or email.
Pick up the phone and call them. Write them a thank you note. Send them a thoughtful gift. The little things go such a long way.
When we talk Family, we want people who challenge and support us in our walks with God, our purpose and values in life. We just have to always be sure that when we have people like this in our lives, we are giving God the glory and showing unconditional gratitude to the ones he has placed in our lives.
